If you have noticed that Bryan and Emma's website no longer shows any scheduled gigs, it is because Emma married in 2008 and moved out-of-state with her husband who is in the Army. Bryan and Emma are no longer performing together, however, Bryan has met up with a fantastic group of musicians who have formed the band "Second Circle". You can read more about them at Bryan's new website below.

When Emma married and moved, Bryan then made the decision to concentrate his efforts on music competitions and completing school. That decision obviously paid-off because Bryan went on to win several competitions in 2009, including the Merlefest Mandolin Championship and a triple win at the prestigious Walnut Valley National Competitions in Winfield, Kansas. Howdy Folks! Welcome to our brand new site!  Grab your beans and cornbread, cookies and milk, pull up a chair, and come on in and visit awhile. We've missed having you around during our website reconstruction and look forward to hearing from everyone again soon.

Great News, too! Although we are no longer makin' music together as the family band, Bryan and Emma have struck out on their own and taken audiences by storm as an AWESOME sibling duo. They've always been something special but their God-given musical abilities as a duet far exceed anything they have ever done together. The two have continued to expand their multi-instrumental, vocal, and songwriting talents and their performances now include a variety of music from traditional and progressive bluegrass, to gospel, jazz, celtic and more. See their NEW website at www.bryanandemmamcdowell.com and catch their music soon at a location near you!

The McDowell Family Band site will have a new look and a new focus. Ofcourse, we want to direct folks to Bryan and Emma's new site, performance schedule, and cd's, but we plan to make THIS site a historical stop along the way. So please keep checking back as we continue to build the site. We are planning to have LOTS & LOTS of memorable pictures that you won't want to miss.
